Imagine you are standing in front of a judge and he has just given you the verdict, guilty. You are sentenced to the electric chair. You’re walking to the chair but someone stands up and says “I will take her place.” He goes, sits in the chair and is killed on your behalf. You tell the judge, no it should have been me, but the man already took your place, your case is acquitted. The judge tells you, “get out of here, your case is closed.”
