The Gospel: Day 1

Posted by Jess

For the next thirty days I’m going to write the gospel in the different ways that I’ve heard it in hopes to grasp it better. This is the Gospel as I understand it:

Jesus lived the life I couldn’t live (in perfect righteousness before God), died the death I deserve to die (he paid the penalty owed for my sin against God), and he rose from the dead making me right with God (justified in his sight).

“And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:13-14 ESV

Until next time,
=)
